Register now for the FAI/DIAS International Drone & Digital Aviation Conference

The registration is now open for the 2019 FAI/DIAS International Drone & Digital Aviation Conference. The event will take place at the EPFL Rolex Learning Centre in Lausanne, Switzerland on Friday 13 September, as part of the FAI International Drones Conference and Expo.

The theme for this third edition of the conference is: ‘Delivering the Future: Digital Aviation Technologies to Enable Sustainable & Scalable Solutions’.

At a time of rapid technological innovation, the conference represents a unique opportunity for global interaction around the topic of drones and digital aviation and the wider implications for business, government and civil society.

Experts from around the world will convene once again at the FAI International Drones Conference and Expo to build on the success of the previous two editions of the conference and to continue shaping the future of the drone industry and forging a sustainable relationship between digital aviation and society as a whole.

Registration

Open to all professionals from aviation, drone, government, sport and public organisations

Programme includes

  • 2019 FAI/DIAS International Drone & Digital Aviation Conference
Delivering the Future: Digital Aviation Technologies to Enable Sustainable & Scalable Solutions

- Morning Session: Trending drone technologies and applications
- Afternoon Session: U-space – safe, secure and fair access to the skies for drones and electric aircraft
- Afternoon Session: Urban Air Mobility - when and how will electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft impact passenger transport and urban infrastructure?

Confirmed speakers include Prof Martin Vetterli, President of EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) and John Langford, President and CEO of Boeing Aurora Flight Science.

FAI President Bob Henderson comments: “The conference is a unique opportunity for globally recognised players from all horizons (academia, business, sport, government etc.) to engage in multidisciplinary discourse, discover the trends most likely to permit sustainable and scalable solutions and to sketch out the future of drones; it’s a unique occasion for professional participants to interact in top level debate.”

This year, the organisers FAI are working alongside partners DIAS (Drone Industry Association Switzerland), a group representing members from the drone industry whose purpose is to promote positive and sustainable drone technology use and innovation.

Simon Johnson, Vice President of DIAS comments: “The world of drones and its associated technologies are creating a new era for aviation. Out of the broad research and development currently under way, which inventions will lead to impactful, safe, secure and environmentally responsible services; e.g. drone delivery in rural Africa or urban air mobility in Asia’s megacities? What must we change now to reap the future economic and social benefits?”

Thanks to leading experts who will be sharing their knowledge and vision, conference participants will be able to identify key opportunities, plan their adoption and maximize their benefits from the fascinating and fast-growing drone and digital aviation industry.”

Friday’s conference for professionals will be followed by a public event on Saturday 14th September which aims to acquaint the audience with the key topics surrounding drone innovation, sports and safety. Discussion will be led by expert panels and will include presentations from micro to large flying robots, drone e-sports and drone simulators as well as the challenges of integrating drones into the airspace and future urban air mobility services.
